$550,000 for Snitzel colt at Melbourne Premier

08 Mar 2022

The Inglis Premier Sale continued the upwards trend seen in the yearling market to date in 2022 and our seven strong draft reaped the rewards after a busy week of inspections in Melbourne. After huge inspection numbers at the Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney, we were a little surprised to smash those numbers again, with the Snitzel x Reply Churlish colt (pictured) breaking our record for the busiest horse in one day in any Willow Park draft in 2022.

Once again, we were pleased to achieve a 100% clearance rate, with our average of $217,857 placing Willow Park in fifth on the leading vendors list by average. The top lot in our draft came in the form of a cracking Snitzel colt out of the well related mare Reply Churlish (O'Reilly), sold for $550,000 to Bon Ho of Legends Racing, to be trained in Victoria by Lloyd Kennewell.

It was also fantastic to reach $320,000 for the gorgeous colt by Dundeel out of Casear's Princess, sold to Suman Hedge Bloodstock, Julian Blaxland Bloodstock and Freedman Racing. On top for the fillies was the half sister to Champion 3YO Xtravagant, a filly by Snitzel from the grand producer Axiom (Zabeel).

The yearling sale season continues next week, as we head to Adelaide with a draft of seven lovely horses, our inaugural draft to be presented at the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale.
