Black type updates and an impressive debut winner

The pedigree updates keep coming for resident broodmare Acqume (Sepoy), as her half brother Splintex (Snitzel) won the Group 2 Bobbie Lewis Quality at Flemington this weekend.
It was the third stakes win - the second at Group 2 level - for Splintex, who is a winner of seven races from 20 starts and took his prizemoney over the million dollar mark.
From a wonderful family, they are out of stakes placed O’Reilly mare Acquired (NZ), who is a half sister to the speedy Hips Don’t Lie (Stravinsky). Acqume has a 3/4 sister to Splintex at foot by Snitzel and returned to the Champion sire this season.
We were also pleased to see a dominant three length debut win by San Telmos Fire (Brazen Beau x Rocket Commander) on Saturday for Clinton McDonald.
Group 3 winner, Rocket Commander, was sold as a racing or breeding proposition in our 2017 Magic Millions Broodmare Sale draft. She was purchased for $280,000 by Belmont Bloodstock and Dorrington Farm.
San Telmos Fire is the first foal of Rocket Commander and the filly couldn’t have been more impressive on debut, she will be one to watch this spring!
