Changing Colours dominant at Flemington

A mare that has always shown plenty of talent, Changing Colours was back in the winner’s circle with a brilliant win at Flemington on Saturday for new trainer Lucy Yeomans.

 

The rising six-year-old mare was having her second start for Lucy Yeomans, having put in a good effort first-up over 1420m at Flemington four weeks earlier.

 

Stepping out to 1600m, Changing Colours found a beautiful spot three pairs back on the rail, angling out to find clear air at the 300m mark and changing gears to pull away and win by an easy two lengths, providing her trainer with her first Flemington win since going out on her own.

 

Previously trained by Chris Waller, Changing Colours has always shown plenty of ability, with four wins (three at metropolitan level), eight placings and $309,000 prizemoney to her credit from 17 starts. 

 

By The Autumn Sun, Changing Colours is out of two-time Randwick sprint winner Cleanup (Dehere), making her a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Nettoyer (Sebring).

 

She was foaled at Willow Park in 2020 for her breeders Bromfield Park, who purchased Cleanup carrying Changing Colours for $260,000.
