Changing Colours steps up a notch

25 Nov 2024

Well-related mare Changing Colours stepped it up a level when scoring her first metropolitan win on the Caulfield Heath track on Wednesday for Chris Waller Racing.

The lightly-raced four-year-old has just four starts under her belt to date, for two wins and two seconds, and handled the step up in grade with ease to win by 1.75 lengths, in track record time over the 1500m.

A winner on debut at Kyneton in May, Changing Colours was then sent for a spell and has since run second in two subsequent starts this preparation, beaten just 0.35L and 0.75L respectively.

The writing may have been on the wall for keen form students, as Changing Colours was second behind Bon Mistress (Bon Hoffa) at her most recent start on October 24th, who then came out to win at Flemington two weeks later.

Foaled and raised at Willow Park for her breeders Bromfield Park, Changing Colours hails from the first crop of Arrowfield Stud's rising star The Autumn Sun.

She is the seventh foal from Cleanup (Dehere), a speedy filly herself that won twice at Randwick as a two-year-old. Cleanup has produced six winners from six to race, including dual Gr1 Doncaster Hcp winner, Nettoyer (Sebring).
