Seven from 12 for Charcoals
30 Sep 2025

One of the most exciting horses on the MyRacehorse books at present, Charcoals continues to build an impressive record, adding a seventh win to his name on Friday night at Moonee Valley.
With just 12 starts under his belt, Charcoals has won his past three straight, two of those at metropolitan level.
Charcoals was sold at the 2023 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale for $180,000 to the bid of Freedman Racing, Julian Blaxland Bloodstock and MyRacehorse.
From the first Australian crop of supersire Too Darn Hot [GB], the Anthony and Sam Freedman trained gelding is the best of two winners from two to race for resident mare Aquila Solitaria [IRE].
A Listed winning daughter of Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Raven’s Pass (USA), Aquila Solitaria hails from a pedigree littered with black type, as a daughter of Italian Champion Older Female Sprinter, Alta Fedelta [GB] (Oasis Dream).
Since foaling Charcoals in 2021, she has produced as yet unraced colts by Wootton Bassett [GB] and Russian Revolution, a yearling colt by Pierro destined for the 2026 yearling sales and is currently in foal to Shinzo.
