Stakes winner for Essence

An incredible season for Willow Park-sold broodmares continued this week, when Indispensable scored his first stakes win on Wednesday, bringing up the 10^th stakes winner produced by a mare offered by Willow Park this season.

 

A seven-year-old son of Akeed Mofeed (GB), Indispensable is the second foal of stakes placed Fastnet Rock mare Essence, who was sold through our 2015 Magic Millions Broodmare Sale draft for $160,000 to Goldin Farms.

 

A 46-start veteran, Indispensable has won nine races, with a further 17 placings and almost $450,000 in the bank. In winning Wednesday's Listed Conquering Stakes (1400m) at Launceston, he put 2.25L on Tasmanian champ, $1.8m earner The Inevitable (Dundeel). 

 

Essence was a winner twice for Phillip Stokes, also placing third in the Group 1 South Australian Oaks, 0.7L behind Invest (Dehere).
