Willow Park broodmare graduate produces a rising star

Globe trotting superstar, So You Think (NZ), has had a career best season as the fifth leading sire and ended with a bang, producing four winners on Saturday, the final day of the racing season.

 

One of these impressive winners was Shane Nichols trained (then) 3yo filly, So You Assume, who smashed her rivals to win by four lengths at Moonee Valley. It was the third win in 10 starts for the lightly raced filly, who also has three placings and a tidy $162,215 to her name. 

 

So You Assume is the first foal of Choisir mare, Remlap’s Jewel. A three time winner herself, Remlap’s Jewel was sold to Lauriston Thoroughbreds for $80,000 through our 2017 Magic Millions Broodmare Sale, carrying So You Assume-her first foal.

 

Remlap’s Jewel is a half sister to Group 1 Golden Rose winner, Manawanui, a winner of five stakes races and $1.4 million.

 

While trainer Shane Nichols said So You Assume isn’t yet at stakes level, he indicated she may be heading that way later this year, after a couple more starts followed by a break.

 

We look forward to seeing what the highly promising filly can do in the future, it’s hugely satisfying to watch our broodmare graduates producing quality horses!
