Classic Sale success
19 Feb 2025

The Inglis Classic Yearling Sale is complete for another year, bringing some great results for Willow Park clients, with 12 of the 15 yearling offered in Sydney finding new homes.
Inglis reported that while the sale median ($70,000) remained the same as the 2024 edition, the 2025 average of $94,257 showed an increase on 2024. Willow Park achieved a healthy average of $117,333 for 12 horses sold.
Our highlight was lot 183 - the colt by Coolmore's exciting shuttler Wootton Bassett (GB), who was the equal-third highest priced yearling of the sale when knocked down for $400,000 to Belmont Bloodstock and McEvoy Mitchell Racing.
Bred by valued client Langdown Park Thoroughbreds, the colt is the fifth foal of resident mare Elegant Air (So You Think), a half-sister to Gr1 winner Go Indy Go (Bernardini) and the dam of two winners from two to race.
Other great results included the $240,000 paid by Shane McGrath Bloodstock for lot 273, the All Too Hard colt out of Happy Event, and a pair of cracking Russian Revolution colts sold for $140,000 and $120,000 respectively.
Willow Park also featured in the top pinhooking results courtesy of a lovely colt by first season sire, Acrobat. A half-brother to exciting Adelaide filly Nextonixs (Tassort), the colt was purchased for $10,000 at the Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale and sold at Classic for $130,000.
One of the most exciting horses in the draft was lot 243, the King's Legacy x Gemini Miss colt, who realised $90,000 to the bid of Captain Tan. The gorgeous colt was bred by Stud Manager Jade Rossington and her husband Tom, who were thrilled with this result!
With our first two yearling sales for 2025 done and dusted, attention now turns to the 21 yearlings we have in preparation for Magic Millions Adelaide (13) and Inglis Easter (eight).
