Regulated Affair gets off the mark
09 May 2025
Wednesday's metropolitan meeting at Warwick Farm saw our third two-year-old winner for the season, when Regulated Affair broke his maiden for Chris Waller Racing.
A good-looking son of Coolmore's boom sire Wootton Bassett (GB), Regulated Affair was having his second start over 1000m following a brilliant debut in March where he finished second by 0.05L. He justified the $1.45 favouritism jumping from barrier 1, travelling sweetly before pulling away in the final stages to win by 1.5L.
Chris Waller commented post race that the colt will now head to Queensland, stepping out in distance with black type goals culminating in the Gr1 JJ Atkins Stakes (1600m) at Eagle Farm.
Foaled and raised at Willow Park, Regulated Affair is the first foal of the speedy Matt Dale-trained mare Sei Stella (Not A Single Doubt), who won five from 12, including three city wins at Randwick and Moonee Valley.
